A series of smile raising snatches of speech.

On the school bus circa 1986 two girls discuss their dinner.

Girl 1: What you havin’ for tea?

Girl 2: beef bourguignon

Girl 1: What’s that?

Girl 2 (long pause) Chicken.

In a chip shop in Manningtree, the chip lady is wrapping a customer’s order rather quickly

Customer” Oooh careful”

Chip lady “Oh you can’t crush a pie dear. They’re too firm”

Collecting conkers in the cemetery circa 1994. A boy of about 7 approaches and says consipratorily.

“you wanna go up where they burn the bodies….they’re really big up there.”
